Vincent Gross

Vincent Gross swings and sings with soul and rhythm along todays jazz vanguard. He has worked on television and in theater, and contributed to recording projects, all helping to fuel the ongoing success of jazz music. His discography will continue to lengthen as he will appear on several new releases, including projects by Mark Gross The Gospel According to Mark , Bob Peckman Alone Together and his own project I Ain't Got Nothing But The Blues. His consistently professional musicianship has lead to live and recorded efforts with many of his fellow pace setters in jazz music. Vincent has toured and played at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the Japan Jazz Festival and the Down Beat Jazz Festival , to name a few. He has toured Japan with the Mark Conese Quintet and with Chuck Brown & the Soul Searchers. Vincent has played and recorded with Gary Bartz, Antonio Hart, Cyrus Chestnut, Gary Thomas, Sarah Vaughan, Mulgrew Miller, Mark Witfreid, Delfayo Marsalis, Philip Harper, and The Temptations. Vincent credits his prolific sound to the rich appeciation for gospel music that resounded through his parent's Baltimore home where his dad played tenor sax, mother played piano and drums, and his sisters and brothers played sax, drums and guitar. Vincent's father is still the pastor of his hometown church, Mt. Zion Congregation. After developing his interest in jazz music at Baltimore's High School, Vincent studied three years at peabody Conservatory and two years at the University of Maryland, and is still learning and growing as a professional musician.
