Court Stewart

Court Stewart received a Bachelor's degree in music at Radford University and a Master's degree in jazz performance from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. During this time he studied privately with renowned jazz educators and performers Jerry Coker and Donald Brown. While in Knoxville, he had the opportunity to perform with a wide variety of musical talent, including a two-year engagement at Lucille's with tenor sax great Bill Scarlett. During this time Stewart's group also won the 1999 Downbeat Reader's award for best small group performance.

After moving to Atlanta, GA in 2000, Stewart quickly became a familiar face on the local music scene, performing in popular Atlanta venues such as Churchill Grounds, Sambuca Jazz caf‚, the Rialto center and the High Museum of Art. He has performed at Jazz festivals and concerts up and down the East Coast, including the Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Trumpet Awards at Earthlink Live, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Stewart has performed with such jazz notables as Rene Marie, Javon Jackson, Steve Ellington, Chip McNeill and Lisanne Lyons.
