Cove and Little Cove Mountains PLUS

12.7 miles, moderate terrain 23 miles from Roanoke, $2.00 carpool fee
This hike will be a loop hike utilizing the Cove Mountain Trail, the AT and the Little Cove Mountain Trail. We will begin on the Cove Mountain Trail and follow it to the AT. We will then hike south on the AT past Little Cove Mountain Shelter to the junction of the Little Cove Mountain Trail. We will descend the Little Cove Mountain Trail 2.8 miles to Jennings Creek and then walk 0.7 mile on the road to its intersection with the AT. We will then follow the AT back south to its junction with the Buchanan and Cove Mountain Trails and then return to the starting point on the same Cove Mountain Trail. This hike will have a good bit of climbing.
